What we do

We work directly with over 300,000 children, young people, parents and carers every year.

We run over 1000 vital services across the UK, including

  • protecting children, young people and families where abuse has happened — we are the largest provider of child sexual exploitation support in the UK
  • welcoming children who are fostered, adopted or in residential care, giving them more stability, helping them focus on their future, finding new families to welcome them
  • supporting vulnerable children facing a range of difficulties, like a family member with a disability
  • counselling and guiding children and families facing problems related to mental health
  • nurturing young families, because prevention is better than cure
  • empowering young people leaving care, supporting them with the huge changes they face as they become adults

We also use our original research, based on the direct work we do, to

  • lobby to influence the government on issues affecting children and young people
  • campaign to raise public awareness of issues affecting children and young people
